![]() | Marketed to hospitals and laboratories throughout the United
States, the ESR Stat Plus is an advanced erythrocyte sedimentation rate
(ESR) testing device manufactured by HemaTechnologies. The key advantage
to the ESR Stat Plus is that it obtains results at a significantly
quicker rate than comparable methods. In comparison to the Westergren
method, which takes an hour, the ESR Stat Plus completes three patient
results in only five minutes. Using a small sample size of 25
microliters, QNS (quantity not sufficient) report-outs are significantly
reduced or eliminated, control costs are minimized, and biohazard waste
volume is decreased. The dedicated analysis tubes for the ESR Stat Plus
are wrapped in Mylar and have a self-sealing feature in order to
maximize safety. The results of the ESR Stat Plus are highly accurate,
with an expected 0.96 or better correlation to the Westergren method.
The ESR Stat Plus presents the results and the patient?s identification
number on its screen, without any subsequent calculations or
measurements to perform.
